"No.

This is not a place where someone shakes a minister's hand, 'receives the Lord into their heart', and lives happily ever after ...

...This is a place where real people, who live real lives, depend on each other and experience God in an undeniable way."

~ Toby Stevens, Lead Pastor

OUR PHILOSOPHY

1) Our journey of life is truly as important as our destination!

2) In our relationships, mercy and grace triumphs over judgment.

3) Our gatherings are nothing more than fellow sojourners coming together to commune with God and with each other, in an organized time of learning, worship, discussion, and friendship.

4) We celebrate that every believer has a vital contribution to make to the health and well-being of the whole church.

5) We endeavor to foster an environment that gives room for people to make mistakes as they grow in their relationship with God.

6) We embrace children and youth as part of the believing community, and include them in our gatherings as fellow worshipers and ministers.

OUR BELIEFS

1)
True Christianity boils down to love ... a reckless, abandoned love for God and compassionate, active love for others.

2) The sole basis of our belief is the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testament).  The Scriptures are authentic, infallible and inerrant in their original manuscripts.  They are the final authority on all matters of faith, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

3) The God of the Old Testament was incarnated in the New Testament, and today offers to fill us with his Spirit.  He is wildly loving, safe but not tame, unfathomable, uncontainable, unpredictable, and yet able to be known intimately.

4) Conversion is punctilious: faith, repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and being filled with his Spirit.  However, spiritual transformation takes place over the course of a believer's life ... as we learn and grow in the knowledge of God and ourselves.

5)  There is no distinction between the sacred and secular in a believer's life ... everything is sacred ... devoted unto God.  Thus, worship is not an event, but a lifestyle.

6) God has given each person creative talents and abilities that should be explored, developed, and intricately woven into life.

7) All believers are called to a personal, unique ministry and have a purpose specifically designed by God.

8) We believe in developing relationships with the churches and social ministries in and around Anchorage for the purposes of following God’s heart, leading to city and regional transformation.
